WEDDING: HOW BOLLYWOOD DID IT RECENTLY?
Every bride dreams that her wedding decoration matches YashRaj film set, her bridal trousseau just like the one that actresses wear and the Groom just like the actors, all decked up and flamboyant. Well, it is simple to copy them and make arrangements somewhat like theirs or the other option is to make sure that each detail is like it is at their real wedding that is all conceptualized by and managed by the professionals, your friends who ensure that your MangalPhera is as stylish and chic as theirs.
So, we bring to you today the nitty gritties of the wedding of bollywood actor cum producer and owner of Born Free Entertainment – Dia Mirza with Sahil Sangha, her business partner and beau of six years. They celebrated the fuction at Delhi’s Rosha Farms with attendance by various celebrities from Indian film industry. Moreover, actor Boman Irani has been speculated to have given away (kanyadaan) the bride Dia to her hubby Sahil.
The couple opted for a quiet and private affair and chose a fairly simple wedding by Delhi high society standards. Dia wore a beige and green Ritu Kumar sharara for the wedding and a Shantanu & Nikhil gown for the reception. Sahil wore a cream silk achkan and emerald green kurta by Raghuvendra Rathore. Dia’s wedding sharara was inspired by Ritu Kumar’s Falaknuma collection, which highlights the heritage of craftsmanship that the city of royal Hyderabad is renowned for. Dia, who is from Hyderabad briefed Ritu Kumar about wanting a Hyderabadi touch for her Delhi wedding and keeping this in mind Ritu Kumar designed the rich, traditional ensemble.
While the actress looked unbelievably stunning at all the wedding functions, Dia even spilled a glare of sheer bridal allure all over with her simplicity. Dia looked regal on her wedding day but the outfit that mesmerized was her peach reception lengha. The embroidery and borders were out of this world! Well, note a point that simplicity and royalty do go hand in hand rather than the more preferred vibrant and shining.
The décor for Dia’s wedding was straight out of a fairytale. Gautam Vedi of Aura Events and wedding planners Natasha, Amrita & Erina of Divinity Weddings brought scenery you can only dream of into reality. The fresh flowered mandap and staging situated outside with the white furniture is just exquisite.
Later for the reception they transformed the New Delhi farmhouse into another thing of beauty with fabric draped outdoor ceilings and chivari chair drapings to match! The wedding venue looked spectacular and the inside decor exuded resplendence, none of it, which could have been possible except for the super creative wedding planners.
Now officially, Mrs. Sahil Sangha, actress Dia Mirza have opted to go back to work for now but the newly wed is expected to cherish their honeymoon this New Year that remains a surprise for Dia.
One thing that this bollywood wedding highlights is that simplicity yet distinction is the flavor of the season and it is not the grandeur but the attitude reflected that matters the most. The couple chose for a simple yet aristocratic do and hence made sure that this is one of those weddings that won’t be easily forgotten for style has its own Manorama effect.
